Registration for the 2018 SACO International Conference is Now Open!
The 2018 SACO International Conference, hosted at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium Port Elizabeth, will feature a range of experts, both academic and from industry, who will deliver significant insight into the industry, in support of the major theme, ‘Beyond the Creative Economy? - Trends and Issues in National and Regional Economies’

Your Conference Registration Includes:
- Two full conference days including:
- Keynote speakers
- Panel sessions
- Wednesday and Thursday buffet lunch

- Programme materials, including access to the conference proceedings and presentations via the 2018 SACO conference website
- Invaluable networking opportunity with local and international representatives of the Cultural and Creative Industry. You are responsible for your travel, lodging and incidental expenses. There is no reduced conference fee for late arrivals or early departure. One day only fees are also not available.

*Student conference rates apply only to students currently who are currently registered at a university and underway with their formal studies. Proof of registration in the form of a letter from a supervisor/registrar from the institution must be provided in order to take advantage of this special rate together with a presentation of a valid student card for 2017.
Conference Dinner
A conference dinner will be held on the first evening of the conference, Wednesday 24th May. Drinks will be served on arrival and a cash bar will be available for the remainder of the evening. The venue for the dinner will be announced to all attendees prior to the conference.

Registration Confirmation
E-mail confirmation of registration and receipt of payment will be sent out once funds have been cleared.
Cancellations/Refunds/Substitutes
If you must cancel your conference registration, please do so as soon as possible. A refund as outlined below will apply:

Refunds will be issued only if a request is made in writing to SACOConference@mandela.ac.za within the cancellation deadlines outlined above. After the 1 st of February 2018, due to various conference commitments and guarantees, refunds are not available.
Please note, no refunds will be due for registered participants who do not attend the conference and have not notified the organisers in writing by the cancellation deadlines. However we are willing to accept substitute attendees, should you not be able to make the conference. If you would like to substitute your attendance with that of another person, please write to us at SACOConference@mandela.ac.za to make the appropriate arrangements.
While it is unlikely, the South African Cultural Observatory (SACO) may cancel or postpone this conference due to unforeseen circumstances. If the conference is cancelled or postponed, registration fees will be refunded, but SACO cannot be held responsible for other costs, charges or expenses including cancellation/change charges assessed by airlines or travel agencies.
Registration fees will not be cancelled and refunds will not be issued if the conference is held but the participant is unable to attend due to travel delays or cancellations caused by inclement weather, or due to other extraordinary circumstances beyond the control of the South African Cultural Observatory.
Publicity Statement
Photographs, Publicity, and Participant Lists: Registration for this event gives automatic consent for photographs, publicity and inclusion on the participant list unless the South African Cultural Observatory is notified in writing prior to the start date. Please write SACOConference@mandela.ac.za regarding any confidentiality requests.
