Litha Sam-Sam

Litha Sam-Sam is a young social innovator, creative educator, and the Founder and Managing Director of Loxion Mobile Library, a grassroots literacy initiative based in Vrygrond, Cape Town.  Established during the COVID-19 lockdown, the Loxion Mobile Library began with one bicycle and a dream to make reading fashionable and accessible for children in under- resourced communities. Today, it serves over 100 learners daily through afterschool literacy programs, mobile reading sessions, storytelling theatre, and creative learning activities.  Litha’s work integrates arts, literacy, and community empowerment, positioning reading not only as an educational tool but as a vehicle for healing, imagination, and social change. His innovative “Book Machine” model, digital literacy integration, and mobile learning initiatives have inspired collaborations with organizations such as Shine Literacy, The Learning Trust, Book Dash, and the Social Employment Fund. A passionate advocate for education equity and youth development, Litha continues to reimagine how creative learning can shape future-ready skills and opportunities for township youth.
