Thabang Queench

Thabang Queench is a Program Director for the EziNgcanjini Project, which focuses on gender transformative and social justice work, based in Gqebera, Eastern Cape, South Africa. He is an advanced facilitator, trainer, and coach with extensive experience in community engagement and development. He is a board member of both the Southern Africa Development Research and Training Institute (SADRAT) and the Khanyisa Training and Development Trust, a branch of the Trust for Community Outreach and Education (TCOE). Thabang has a rich background in facilitating dialogue and training programs that address critical issues such as race, gender, masculinities, violence, and social justice. He co-curated the Masizakhe documentary, highlighting the influence of Hip-Hop culture on local creatives. From 2012 to 2016, he served as the Community Engagement and Research Coordinator at Nelson Mandela's Centre for the Advancement of Non-Racialism and Democracy (CANRAD). His areas of interest encompass art for social justice, community development, organizational change, and advocacy. Since 2013, Thabang has been an advanced facilitator for race, diversity, and organizational transformation, contributing to transformative processes at institutions such as Nelson Mandela University, where he was involved in the Institutional Culture Enlivening Process (ICEP). Through his multifaceted approach, Thabang continues to impact his community and promote social equity.
