The report, Cultural times: The first global map of cultural and creative industries, examined the impact that the cultural and creative sectors have had on the worldwide economy. Creative industries are 'driving force' of UK economy, says David Cameron

'From Asia to America, they’re dancing to our music, watching our films and wearing our designers’ latest creations'. Britain's creative industries have become the driving force of the UK economy, the Prime Minister said at the launch of a new scheme to help creative entrepreneurs raise investment and win new customers. Speaking at the Creative Entrepreneurs event at 10 Downing Street on Wednesday, David Cameron said that the creative economy is growing three times faster than any other sector, and currently generates £80bn per year for the UK - or £8.8m per hour.
