JOBURG ballet’s prima ballerina Burnise Silvius has announced that she will be retiring from the stage at the end of the upcoming season of La Traviata, a ballet at the Joburg Theatre in Braamfontein. The 10-perfomance season of La Traviata runs from Friday 31st of March to Sunday 9th of April and on Sunday 9th of April the last day, it will be her last performance preceded by performances Saturday 1st of April and Saturday 8th of April, all at 15:00 pm.
Speaking about her upcoming retirement, Silvius said she is grateful to look back on a long and fulfilling career. Looking to the future, Silvius will be taking time off before deciding on her future path.
