Although already in the public domain for over a year now, the KEA and Kaiser Associates Report, Trade In Creative And Cultural Goods And Services – EU-South Africa CCIS Development, is still highly relevant to the South African creative and cultural industries.
The publication is the culmination of a research project financed by the European Union and undertaken through a partnership between the British Council, the Visual Arts Network of South Africa, Arterial Network South Africa & EUNIC partners. It explores the state of South Africa’s creative sector with regards to the export and exchange of creativity and culture with the rest of the world, with particular consideration given to trade between Europe and South Africa. It is rooted in two years of intensive research and discussion with creative businesses and government and spans across all areas of the creative sector including film, music, visual arts, craft and design, theatre and new media and will offer valuable insight into how the Creative Industries can better work together to improve the profile and trade for the South African sector.
