Research showcases the value of design to local businesses

RETAINING staff; achieving greater market share; increasing turnover; and having more satisfied clients, have been proven to be the outcome of incorporating, and embedding, design into organisations, or design-led organisations. Deep into these organisations’ ethos, is the integration of design, it is argued. 

For example, BOS Iced Tea is said to pair African style with the distinctly local flavour of rooibos; GetSmarter’s online learning platform is said to be designed completely around the needs of a learner; Ybike is said to have made the traditional children’s plastic push bike essential to the development of any child’s motor skills and essential balance; and, Yuppiechef.com’s online kitchenware retail shop is said to have improved the organisation’s efficiency, and surprised and delighted its clientele.

As a result, the organisations are reported to have fared very well.
