Denise Roodt

Denise Roodt is the owner and CEO of The Media Workshop. She is an experienced businesswoman, media educator, training provider, content producer and entrepreneur. Career milestones include:

• Bringing AFDA film school to Port Elizabeth and growing AFDA PE into a successful campus during her tenure as Dean and Registrar from 2015 to 2018
• Receiving recognition for her social development initiatives in the media industry by being featured as a success story in a publication of the International Labour Organisation
• Publishing Zithethele, a Xhosa community newspaper for Nelson Mandela Bay and surrounds, which won five MDDA Sanlam community media awards between 2010 and 2012
• Co-ordinating the Journalism programme and serving as deputy programme leader of the BA: Media, Communication and Culture at Nelson Mandela University in Port Elizabeth

Working internationally as a television news correspondent for the South Africa Broadcasting Corporation
