Dr Siona O’Connell

Dr Siona O’Connell is an African Studies scholar, curator and filmmaker at the University of Pretoria. Her research interests pivot on ‘colouredness’, memory and trauma and how to think about freedom after apartheid. She has curated numerous exhibitions and directed and produced 6 films including ‘An Impossible Return” which looks at forced removals in Cape Town, as well her most recent, ‘Promises and Lies: Fault Lines in the ANC’.
