Mhlengi Gumede

Mhlengi is a development practitioner from Durban, South Africa who has worked in different organisations both private and public, gaining vast experience in socio-economic development. He has been involved in a number of planning and development projects related to Rural and Urban Development, Integrated Development Planning, Tourism Development and Local Economic Development. His work has involved the development, facilitation and implementation of strategic processes incorporating different government actors, NGO’s, CBO’s, Parastatals and communities in planning and decision making for their local areas and have acted as Project Manager for different projects. He is currently managing Cato Manor Area-Based Management Unit within eThekwini Municipality which strategically co-ordinates the conceptualization, planning and development of various projects to avoid duplication and streamline service delivery in the area.
