Sibongile Musundwa
Sibongile Musundwa is a creative industries advocate and project manager based in South Africa. She has an MA in Media Theory and Practice, experience in multidisciplinary research and project delivery, with networks spanning over South Africa and the United Kingdom. She is currently the Director of the J&B Hive, a Creative Hub and Accelerator Programme that invests in young creative entrepreneurs in Johannesburg. In her other work, at Owning The Light, she works to encourage creative industries job participation by curtailing representation biases. This is done by profiling young people of colour working in the creative industries, in 'behind the scenes' job roles. Her work also aims to connect arts and culture practitioners to each other. This began through her work at the British Council as a project manager. Here, she leveraged networks and relationships to connect those interested in collaboration and cross-border work to each other. She maintains those relationships to this day. Overall, she creates environments for those in arts, culture and entrepreneurship to fulfil their potential and -- in some cases -- make their dreams come true.
